Not just for the winter sports lovers the “ski week” is now a trend, and the period from January to March are undoubtedly the most popular months to go skiing, snowboarding or simply relaxing snowshoeing in the midst of nature.

The best time ever is the time spent with people we love: the mountain resorts are a place to meet and share with friends and family. Nowadays resorts offer a large choice of activities such as relaxing spas, nighttime snow experiences – you have to try the torch skiing! -, aperitifs with alternative menus in mountain huts, and much more. In addition, the children’s play area, where entertainers and babysitters keep the little ones entertained while you are engaged in some sport.

Mountain destinations are also popular for shopping! That’s why among the streets of Cortina and Courmayeur it’s easy to come across beautiful shop windows of luxury brands, where sporty chic style is in the first place. Tip: even if you’re on vacation, don’t limit yourself to technical clothing: having a unique and fashionable look is a must!

If you don’t know what to pack, don’t worry, we are going to give you some tips and ideas which are the clothes and accessories to put in your suitcase.

Rule number 1: layering

While it’s true that we shouldn’t limit ourselves to technical clothing it’s also true that there are necessary garments to protect us from cold. The key is to hide them under sweaters or chic dresses.

Choose long-sleeved thermal shirts, leggings with simple lines and padded, perhaps in neutral colors, so they can best blend in under a pair of windproof and waterproof bell-bottoms. Among the proposals from luxury brands, we recommend you to take a look at the Fendi line, which recently made seamless technical leggings, perfect to wear under any outfit. For the most daring ones, try the technical bodysuit from Louis Vuitton, sporty but still classy.

Are you in doubt what to wear on top? If you love cozy style, you can play with cashmere, wool, corduroy or piqué knit sweaters, soft mohair cardigans or, why not, thinly textured fleece sweaters. Big brands have always been attentive to this garment and the choice is huge! From Polo Ralph Lauren, Missoni, Jil Sander, Ermenegildo Zegna, Stella McCartney to other less expensive brands like Liu-Jo, Oysho, Maje, H&M, ZARA… etc, you can find many ideas for beautiful looks with typical winter patterns and details inspired by the trends of the moment.

Down Coats & Teddy Coats

A self-respecting snow outfit is not complete without the right outerwear! The most popular ones are undoubtedly camel, moleskine and casentin fabric coats, total white padded jackets and down jackets, but for the past few years, the Teddy Coat trend has been popular.

What about skirts?

If you were wondering if skirts are suitable in the mountains, the answer is yes! Skirts are perfect if you want to stroll through the city center, perhaps with a few friends, while shopping or enjoying a yummy hot chocolate. Let velour, loden, knit, tweed, plaid or bouclé fabric skirts be welcome, perhaps to be worn with heavy socks, suede and shearling boots.

Never forget accessories

Famous is Gucci’s line of ski masks, from the most classic patterns to logoed ones so you won’t go unnoticed. Gloves are another staple of mountain outfit, those in wool or leather – perhaps with synthetic fur cuffs – are perfect, but let’s not forget to range with beanies and hats, french berets, pom-pom bonnets, voluminous scarves, furry bags: you can indulge as you like the most!

Underwear on the snow: the new trend of 2023

Lastly, for the most daring, or if you accidentally packed only a pair of Moon Boot in your suitcase, don’t worry! The VIPs have launched a new trend: posing in briefs on the snow. You just need to wear a simple bikini to be fashionable braving the frost! (P.s: we recommend it only for taking a picture)

And above all, enjoy the snow and don’t forget to make snow angels!
