Red-Mania: at Christmas don’t overdo with red!

Red is the absolute star of the Holidays, especially when we talk about fashion. Yet, it is not the only color to focus on when it comes to Christmas. If you really want to impress friends and family, here are some original tips that will help you choose the right outfit. Tartan patterns, midnight blue velvet jackets, macramé dresses, gold paillettes are the must-haves of the moment. Have fun playing with alternative fabrics and colors and bring your perfect Christmas look to life. Which one will you choose?

Symbol of vitality, love and rebirth, red is undoubtedly the absolute star of the holidays, especially when we talk about fashion. I challenge you to find someone who has never worn, at least once, a garment or accessory of this color at Christmas season!

Because of it is often considered too “challenging” a color to be worn normally during the rest of the year, at Christmas anyone feels free to wear it without brakes: it’s the “Red Mania”.

Red hats, red scarves, red dresses, red sweaters, everything fits this time of year, but in order not to risk being mistaken for Santa Claus (we strongly avoid pairing it with anything white!) we need to pay attention to a few small style details.

Indeed, choosing this color implies not going unnoticed, and knowing how to balance it in the right way or, why not, finding original alternatives, is the first step to stand out tastefully, without looking out of place.

Here’s some tips for not going wrong and making a good impression at Christmas dinner.

Tartan

With bright and bold shades, tartan is a fabric that screams Christmas from every fiber, even if it’s not a total red. If you love this pattern, we recommend you to choose a garment or accessory that enhances your body, because of it is an important pattern: always choosing for clothes that makes you feel comfortable is the first step to making a good impression.

A miniskirt or over-the-knee tartan pants are great suggestions for an easy-going look that is always on fashion.

Sparkling paillettes, rhinestones and beads

Paillettes are a True must-have in this season. Sparkling and colorful, they are perfect for adding brightness to your looks. For the ones most brave, total paillettes dresses are fine, otherwise you can play with accessories: a headband, a clutch bag covered with rhinestones, a beaded clasp can make the difference.

If you don’t want to go unnoticed, but at the same time you want to maintaining a certain aplomb, a nice long dress covered in small paillettes or beads (perhaps applied on the bodice and sleeves) is for you.

Play with colors and materials

In fashion you can combine garments of different material creating original and sophisticated matches often obtained from the combination of different fabrics.

Go for a velvet suit in shades of dark green or midnight blue, perhaps paired with a silk tank top in neutral tones. Or, why not, dare with a chiffon skirt and a cashmere sweater.

Instead, if you have an important dinner or event, for example a business Christmas dinner, you can wear macramé. You can choose a dress, or a taffeta tank top embellished with macramé embroidery, to be worn maybe with a tailleur.

Once again, I suggest you to focus on accessories: a scarf, a clutch bag, or tights in bright tones that break from those of the garments you are wearing will surely make a difference and make your look unique. Gold and silver, on the other hand, are perfect for New Year’s Eve, where shining is allowed.

Soft is beautiful

Among the must-have outerwear during the holidays, furs are at the top of the list. They are perfect for embellishing simple outfits; don’t forget that today there are so many animal-free offerings that that look real.

Try with a fur shrug, for example in purple tones-they will stand out beautifully from any neutral garment you wear.

I also recommend trying a cashmere cardigan (you choose the color you prefer) perhaps embellished with lace embroidery: a classic but elegant option that is always on trend during Holidays.

What about shoes?

Heels at Christmas are a must, but don’t limit yourself, because there are so many alternatives to go for. Sometimes, even choosing bikers or amphibians is the ideal solution to complete your look, especially if you love comfort and want to give a jaunty and rock touch to your outfit. They work very well with lurex or raw wool clothes.

As you can see, you don’t have to be a fashion guru to stand out during the holidays. With the right pairings, you will be able to shine. Above all, I would like to remind you: always choose to wear what makes you HAPPY, because the secret to the perfect outfit is, first of all, FEELING YOURSELF.
